Whether you're craving a refreshing Mojito or the richer notes of Aguardente de Medronho, the drinks menu is thoughtfully curated. Food enthusiasts will find themselves indulging in well-crafted offerings like the Cheese and Ham with Salad—a satisfying medley of fresh ingredients wrapped in crusty bread—and the uniquely appealing Delícias do Mar Cachorro Quente, a seafood twist on the hot dog that bursts with flavor in every bite. The Tosta de Frango and Salada do Frango further attest to the café’s dedication to fresh, flavorful dishes that delight the palate. For dessert, the Hot Chocolate Chocolate Cake provides a decadent and comforting finish, pairing beautifully with a robust, freshly brewed Caffé.

Benn Smith notes the affordable pricing, highlighting a meal that included a baguette, toasted sandwich, and beers for under €20, complemented by easy and cheap parking nearby. Meanwhile, Dmitry Kolyaskin appreciates the spacious outdoor seating and the quality of grilled sandwiches and cakes, although he suggests the bathroom could use some attention. Regulars like Millard Blakey feel right at home with the consistent warmth from Laura, Svitlana, and their family, considering it their go-to breakfast destination, with the crab baguette as a standout favorite.
The café’s setting is as much a part of its charm as the menu itself. Situated in a scenic plaza with views of the riverfront, Svitlana Caffe provides a picturesque backdrop for your coffee break or leisurely lunch. Stephen Ryan beautifully captures this ambiance by celebrating the “great coffee and pastries” alongside a diverse lunch menu and excellent service that never feels intrusive.
If you're wandering through Vila Real de Santo Antonio and seek an authentic, unpretentious café experience where every detail—from the buttery croissants to the velvety hot chocolate cake—is thoughtfully executed, Svitlana Caffe is a rewarding find. As Ashley W’s experience reflects, its reputation for great coffee and cakes is well-earned, drawing a crowd of locals and visitors who value quality, comfort, and genuine hospitality.
This a wonderful little caffe tucked away from the main road , we had a baguette and a toasted sandwich with 2 beers. It came to less than €20 which is nice , I think anyway. Parking locally is cheap and easy , the pic of the beer I've posted is because if you're driving, it's a winner and tastes like shandy at 2% . Staff are very attentive and do not hound you , 10/10 for me .
Nice location. Plenty of seating outside. Cash payments only. Grilled sandwiches were delicious. Coconut cake was great. The croissants felt like being a day old. I've heard they were good at this place, but might have caught them on the off morning. The bathroom area needs a bit more attention. Overall a nice place.
Our go to place in VRSM for breakfast. The crab baguette is our favorite dish. Cakes are good and the expresso always hot. Laura, Svitlana, and family always make us feel welcomed.
Wonderful small cafe with lots of seating, right on the scenic central praça of VRSA and with a view of the riverfront. Great coffee and pastries, but a very good diverse lunch menu as well. Excellent service, so you won't wonder if you will see someone soon! The setting, the service, the food - great place all around!
We walked around for a little while and just didn’t know what coffee shop or pastry shop would be good. We must have wales in and out of a couple and looking for at least half and hour. Then we stumbled across Svitlana Caffe. As we walked in we were told the coffee is great as are the cakes so that was a good sign. Full of locals the shop is only small and seating outside. Very polite and friendly. The coffee was amazing I ordered extra and the pastel De Nata was the best I had ever had. Flakey crispy crunchy pastry and the custard was not to sweet but just perfect as was the caramelised top. Again. Ordered extra they were so good. Best bit. The price. Oh my you just can’t go wrong. Cash only though so stop off at the ATM beforehand. Loads around
Best sandwich I've had from anywhere in years. Good coffee and juice. Dog-friendly and able to welcome customers in many languages. Just what we needed to refuel before reluctantly crossing back home to Spain. No free parking anywhere near here that we could find, but paid on street 0.85€/hour
